Wirelynx TR2101 PLC Receivers
Wirelynx R-2101 PLC
Receivers are located at remote points on the powerline within a
building or electrical service on
the same phase as a TR2001 transmitter.
When the Receiver receives a signal over the powerline from a TR2001
transmitter of the same channel, the relay contacts switch from the
"normal" position to the "energized" position and a green LED lights.
When the powerline signal stops, the relay switches back to the normal
position and the green LED goes out. As many Receivers as desired can be connected to the same
powerline and will receive signals from one TR2001 Transmitter of the same
channel. Receivers may be placed on
a circuit of a different voltage within the building as long as the
receiver is on the same distribution transformer. This is
accomplished by using the Wirelynx Model TR2201 Transformer Jumper which couples signals across transformers.
TR2101 Receivers
have been designed to ignore electrical noise such as SCR light dimmers,
motors, motor controllers, electronic ballasts, arc welders, power
surges, broadcast band radio transmissions and other brands of powerline
carrier systems. This is
done by circuit techniques such as narrow band crystal tuning, signal
limiting and integrating detectors.
Transmitters will not normally cause interference with radio or
TV receivers and conform to FCC rule part 15.
All components contain internal protection against damage from
normal power surges and typical, but not direct, lightning strikes. Wirelynx
TR2101 PLC Receivers are available in several different voltages and
output types. See the table below for specific model information. Product
Selection:
1. Select the voltage that will power the TR2101 receiver. This
is generally the same voltage as the transmitter. When the receiver
"hears" its carrier signal, its relay is energized.
2. Select the output capacity: A.) "Low Power" - The
switched voltage is limited to 250VAC/28VDC and the relay contacts' current
switching capacity is three (3) Amps; or B.) "High Power" -
The switched voltage is limited to 277VAC/28VDC and the relay contacts' current switching capacity is 30 Amps. In both
cases, the receivers remain powered all the time. Caution: DO NOT
attempt to switch 480VAC with the outputs of these receivers.
Their absolute maximum ratings are shown.
3. Select the channel, either 5 or 7. The receiver's
channel number must match the channel number of the transmitter that you
want it to respond to.
